Dean Kearvell
An Oxfordshire based artworker and designer. I have a breadth of skills and knowledge with expertise in brand implementation and scaling graphics across a multitude of mediums.
I have 17 years of experience in creative roles which have enabled me to craft a unique path in what I do. Backed with a solid understanding of the nuances between print and digital design and also have a grasp video and motion graphics.
I love learning new ways of producing a piece of work and I’m always looking for new tools and styles to master. I consider myself to be an all-rounder, not content with just knowing about purely one discipline, I embrace the challenge and complexities of picking up something new.
When I’m not crafting wonderful work or enjoying family time, I’m sipping hot beverages (typically tea), enjoying sport or listening to a varied range of music. I have a fascination for Japanese culture, with plans to visit one day.
Skills
I continue to strive for improving in all areas and have a thirst for knowledge within my craft. Despite having an extensive array of skills, here are my strongpoints.
Creating print-ready artwork in CMYK colour, in the correct resolution. I have a meticulous eye for detail and realise the importance of being organised within a document and have a grasp on how and when to apply stylesheets for templated assets.
Digital
Producing pixel perfect digital assets for use across the web and mobile. I can create banners for websites, icons and infographics. Knowing the best filetypes for each scenario is also something that I am familiar with.
Retouching
I'm a very capable image retoucher with the ability to rework photos in order to ensure that they are fit for purpose. I also understand which resolution to output images for different projects.
Large Format
Experienced in creating graphics for show stands at events, large scale hoarding, exhibition roller banners and large format posters.
Motion/Video
Comfortable in producing motion graphics for short videos. I have a solid grasp on different framerates and formats in order to produce top quality assets.
HTML5
I know my way around digital display banner ads. I am a capable of creating templates which are scaled, animated and then adjusted to be HTML5 compliant.
